Little Steps Multicultural Playgroup Assistant Volunteer
Education, Tutoring & Mentoring
Position Description: Do you have an interest in Early Childhood Development? Are you looking for a fun and lively volunteer experience? We are looking for two volunteers to help with our Little Steps Multicultural Playgroup; one to prepare a healthy morning tea for the children and their families, and the other to assist the coordinators to run the playgroup. Little Steps Multicultural Playgroup invites parents/carers and their pre-school aged children (0-5 years) from all cultural backgrounds to join us in a playgroup that is inclusive, diverse, and welcoming. Children and their families participate together in activities such as outdoor play, craft, puzzles, storytelling, and dancing. Parents and carers are given the opportunity to connect with other families in their local communities, to share knowledge, seek advice, and gain invaluable support. The playgroup is a vital support for local families, and it requires many hands to make it a success. Even if you are only available one of the two mornings a week, your volunteer efforts can help ensure we can continue to offer this program into the future. The assistant position would suit someone who is currently studying early childhood development or who enjoys working with children. The morning tea position would suit someone who is interested in food handling or nutrition. Prior experience is not necessary for either role.
