Canteen Operator/Assistant

Position Description: Volunteers needed to assist with serving of refreshments (drinks, confectionery, etc.) as well as basic food preparation to customers and visitors of the PCYC Gladstone. Operation of a computerised cash register and cash handling duties also required. Also assist with general light cleaning of the canteen and eating areas. Previous food preparation or serving experience is not necessary.
Position Location: Gladstone
Required Skills / Experience: Previous experience not necessary; cheerful personality; neat and tidy appearance; provide quality customer service; follow procedures for responsible alcohol service. Please Note: A Child Suitability Blue Card must be currently held by all volunteers before applying for this position. The PCYC is unable to assist volunteers who do not currently hold a Blue Card.
Gained Skills / Experience: Will be familiar with canteen operations and food preparation. Customer service and general operational skills for running a canteen.

Services Provided: The Gladstone PCYC has been operating since 1977 and provides services to the local and surrounding communities of Gladstone Boyne Island, Tannum Sands, Calliope and Benaraby in Central Queensland. The branch currently has an excess of 2500 members ranging from 2 to 70 years of age who participate in the broad range of activities on offer including fitness, youth and community programs. Our organisation anticipates continued growth and aims to be proactive in developing and maintaining our service to the community
