Child Witness Support Volunteer

Position Description: PACT Volunteers provide court support and information to child witnesses (3-17 years) who are required to give evidence within the Criminal Justice System as victims or witnesses to crime. This role is NOT suitable for people with regular daytime commitments. Suitable for mature, time-flexible people who want to make a difference. PACT prefers people who are prepared to make a long-term commitment to the organisation and who are wanting to support members of their local community.
Position Location: Gladstone
Required Skills / Experience: Excellent communication skills. Self-awareness, self-motivation, team member who can follow procedures and maintain personal boundaries. No experience necessary, full training provided. Time-flexible to meet needs of court system and clients. Genuine commitment to working with children and families involved in the Criminal Justice System. Reliable. Own vehicle. Not suited to people with regular daytime commitments.
Gained Skills / Experience: Volunteers will learn to become an important and respected part of the criminal justice system. The role is very rewarding.

Specical Requirements:
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- National Police Check
- Current Driver's License
Days & Times Available: Mon – Fri, Weekends – Variable times.
